WELCOME TO THE MUSEUM TRAIL

One of Mississippi’s newest greenways connecting people, public space, and healthier communities.

More miles. More connections. More trail.

Museum Trail is a growing multi-use greenway connecting parks, neighborhoods, public spaces, museums, and people through the heart of Jackson.

Today: The current completed section includes approximately 3 miles of trail connecting LeFleur’s Bluff State Park, the Museum District, Greater Belhaven, and Downtown Jackson near the Mississippi Farmers Market.

Coming Soon: Currently under construction, the Downtown Connector will extend Museum Trail beyond Belhaven with new connections to the Old Capitol District, GM&O Depot, Hal & Mal’s, museums, restaurants, parks, and gathering spaces.

Museum Trail was recently awarded the Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhoods Grant

What’s down the line for Museum Trail?

Currently under construction, the Downtown Connector will extend the trail beyond Belhaven and toward Downtown Jackson, creating new connections between neighborhoods, museums, parks, public spaces, and local businesses.

This next phase has been supported through multiple investments including the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Reconnecting Communities & Neighborhoods Program, additional support through Entergy environmental funding, and continued local partnerships working to expand access to more connected communities.

SHARE THE VISION

The next phase of the Museum Trail will form connections through Downtown Jackson including local restaurant staples like Hal & Mal’s and Martin’s Downtown and cultural destinations like The Two Mississippi Museums, Mississippi Museum of Art, The Old Capitol Museum, Jackson Planetarium, and the historic GM&O Railroad Depot.

The Museum Trail is a public-private effort supported by multiple businesses and organizations.
