ABOUT MUSEUM TRAIL

The mission of the Museum Trail is to improve recreation, wellness, alternative transportation, and quality of life in Jackson.

CURRENT CONNECTIONS

Museum Trail is a multi-use trail and greenway connecting communities and providing access to recreation areas, local culture and history, public art, nature, and transportation alternatives that support a better quality of life for Mississippians.

The current completed section of the Museum Trail now connects local residents to Mississippi Farmers Market, Greater Belhaven, and LeFleur Museum District including The Mississippi Children’s Museum and The Mississippi Museum of Natural Science.

Museum Trail was recently awarded the Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhoods Grant!

What’s down the line for Museum Trail?

We are excited to announce that our project proposal Connecting the Museum Trail through Downtown and West Jackson has been awarded the 2023 Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhoods Grant by the US Department of Transportation! The project funding, a total of $588,000, will directly support planning the new 2.5 mile expansion of the trail through Downtown/West Jackson.

DOWNTOWN CONNECTIONS

The next phase of the Museum Trail will form connections through Downtown Jackson including local restaurant staples like Hal & Mal’s and Martin’s Downtown and cultural destinations like The Two Mississippi Museums, Mississippi Museum of Art, The Old Capitol Museum, Jackson Planetarium, The Historic GM&O Railroad Depot, and more!
