Trail Phases

As of this fall, Museum Trail is over 50% completed — a total of 3.1 miles of five miles of planned multi-use trail.  The trail is divided into six phases.

Phase 01 “Belhaven Connector” was completed and opened in Spring 2021. This 1.3 miles section was built on the original GM&O Railline. The rail to trail project is located in the Greater Belhaven Neighborhood.

Phase 02 “Waterworks Connector”  opened in Fall 2023. This .4 mile connector runs in between the highway and former water plant infrastructure. The project connects Greater Belhaven with LeFleur’s Museum District.

Phase 03 “LeFleur Museum District Connector” is in construction and set to open in 2024. The 1.4 mile trail meanders through the new LeFleur’s Museum District Park.

Future Phases are being planned to connect over Lakeland Drive to LeFleur East Neighborhood and South through Downtown Jackson along Commerce Street and Court Street, ending at the Capital Arts District and to the Jackson State Parkway.
